I had extensive work done by Mechanical Arts on my 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible. Phil and his amazing team of craftsmen worked their way through my punch list with attention to detail, good communication, and honest pricing. When something came up that wasn’t on my list that made sense to repair while it was apart they gave me that option. I couldn’t be more pleased with the quality, timing, and effort given to my project. I would highly recommend this team for any restoration project, big or small.

Phil and his staff took the time to explain each major process, source the best and most authentic parts, and direct all outside vendors involved. When Phil anticipated a delay or other issue, he was the first one on the phone, letting me know what he was doing to fix the problem and/or presenting an alternative. "We've had a tremendous amount of work done by Philip and his team at Mechanical Arts. We feel so fortunate to have even run across them, seeing as they aren't particularly close to us geographically. Not only are they our "go to" mechanics to keep our Fiats and MG's in tip-top condition, but when we were really in a bind with one imported Fiat, Mechanical Arts saved the day on more than one occasion.

We had imported a '72 Fiat 500 from Italy. It was in pretty rough shape when it arrived. (What classic car owner hasn't had buyer's remorse when the import finally lands at your door?)

Oh well, the car was ours. Philip and his team gave us very reasonable quotes for both mechanicals and body work. We did the mechanicals immediately and were completely satisfied. Price was very reasonable, they did a stellar job, and we could tell they would leave no stone unturned. However, we thought we might save a penny having the body work done closer to home. Wrong. By the time all was said and done, the local guy took a year and a half(!!) to do a 'fair' job. Not a great job. Not even a 'good' job. A fair job. An adequate job. We would have saved a bundle of both time and money had we simply had it all done all together at Mechanical Arts. We are always happy with their work.

We have an MGA, MGB, Fiat 500 and Fiat 128. We love our cars. But we are not rich people. Thank you Mechanical Arts! See you in the spring!"

"I must admit that when I received your email concerning the rust holes in the front subframe of our E Type, I thought OH NO that is the part of the car that makes it uniquely an Al Garz conversion. You studied what and how Al modified the front structure of the car and together with Austin recreated Al’s subframe from the 1960s. Great work! The car turned out Spectacularly and I don’t know of another shop I’d trust to do the restoration.

You have been a great pleasure to do business with, we greatly enjoyed our e-mail exchanges, phone calls and visits discussing various aspects of the project.
